Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2017 is a classic, multi-regional blend dominated by Shiraz (97%) with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), sourced from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Eden Valley, and Port Lincoln. It is matured for 12 months in old large oak vats, allowing the wine’s intense fruit purity to shine with minimal oak influence. Deep crimson in color, it delivers plush aromas of elderberry, mulberry, blackberry, cherry liqueur, dried herbs, and hints of dried beef, chocolate, and coffee. The palate is medium-bodied, textured, and seamless, with silky tannins, brambly dark fruit, black olive, mocha, and vibrant acidity. Rich and plush when young, it ages to develop earthy, mocha-like depths, with a succulent, lingering finish and remarkable cellaring potential to 2050.
